just got my 03' predator and was wondering, mine seems to have a little bit of rattle? on top but not really a rattle.,,,gear noise maybe?, it only has bout 3 1/2 hrs on it now so do i need to have the service done or wait for the 10 hr breakin? and dont really care wich is faster the rappy or pred all i know is this thing leaves me with nothing but GRINS! and ive rode both and gotta say the pred feels faster tho the rappy feels more comfy for trails ,hadnt really wound it out yet considering its not fully broke in yet but already got my eyes watering was going so fast(forgot my goggles bad atv'r no dougnut) did have my sunglasses on tho ,Oh and of course i do wear a helmet! seen some guys who dont but thats kinda wacko.. Hey any tips on the break in on these ?

Your operator's guide will tell you what and when to perform inspection and basic maintainence. The rattle you hear is probably the chain roller, nothing to worry about. During my break-in, I changed the oil within the first 1-2 hours. Changed it again at 3-4 hrs and there was minimal (if any) metal flakes in the oil by the 2nd oil change. Check your bolts over every where and tighten as needed. Check the chain tension. Check tire pressure. Grease the suspension. Open up your airbox and clean your airfilter. Have fun!
