Raptor Jetting questions
#1
I recently bought a 02 Raptor w/ full pro circuit exhaust and k&n filter. It seems to be running a little strange and I am wondering if it may still be on the stock jets. The previous owner rarely used it and bought it from the dealership with exhaust and k&n already on it. I assume (hope) they would have the sense to jet it, but are there any tell tale signs of improper jetting? Any is there any easy way I can tell if it has been re-jetted?
If I install a K&N Powerlid would I need to worry again about jetting? Sorry if the questions seem a little ignorant but I love my new toy and want to make sure it's running @ peak performance. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

Well I would think that they would rejet it if they had the filter and pipe on it...One way you can notice is the power output...if it has stock jets with those mods then it won't be running at peek performance...Like when your at full throttle you should be able to tell...it will feel like it wants to go faster but it just wont..If it has the stock jets it will also probably sputter since it won't be getting enough fuel through the jets...But they could have put new jets in it but its still not saying that it might need I bigger jet in it to get full performance.....And if you add that K &n power lid...first question...are you running with the regular airbox lid??? If you are and then switch to the power lid then yes you defenetly need to rejet..your going to need more fuel to equal out with all the extra air you'll be getting the power lid..you more air you get the more gas you need....And one secret with the raptors...they seem to really come allive without an airbox lid or with the power lid....get the power lid..rejet to some higher jets..and you should have a pretty meen raptor!! I hope you enjoy your new toy!
