500 ninja mojave
#1
hey guys....just started the first fabrication on my project....looks like its gonna work. this motor almost looks stock in the mojave frame.....exept that it has 60 hp and 6 gears. you can see the frame in the background of my odyssey project. im just waitin on my next paycheck to buy a welder. im tryin to figure out a way to angle the carbs down a bit more to clear the frame on the mojave...anyone have any ideas?intake tubes are rubber, but i want to make it look as stock as possible

I got the exact same project started myself, I just havent had the time to finish it. Actually I have only got the frame streatched about 4 inches and everything is sitting in a homeade jig I made. I have ordered the tubing just havent picked it up yet.
Are you going to try to use the ninja fairing ,tank and seat?

The only bad thing about this wicked project is that when you are done with it, you are going to find that you need major suspension mods because the bike now weighs 120lbs more. Have fun going over 100mph on a Mojave and try not to die doing it. Good Luck

who cares if it over powers the suspension its really cool. Good project. We put a 750 street bike engine in a snowmobile when people said it couldnt be done. But people saying it wont work just drives me more to complete it. When you take it for the first ride and dont like the suspensin, change it. You said your buying a welder. Lenghtin the a arms a bit and lenghtin the swing arm. then youll have one heck of a mojave.

oh and about those carbs, can you angle the motar back a little. It looks tight so probably not. I wouldnt change the carb boots.

A friend of mine did a Suzuki 250R with a Kawi 500ex engine a while back. It didnt fit very well in that frame tho. It had alot of supension issues and was horrible in the woods, but it was fast and fun to play on. Make sure you get the engine sprocket lined up well- If its too high above the pivot point the chain with slack w/ compression and stretch with extension of the rear suspension.
Also, if the carbs wont fit i'd look into cutting the frame.
