Some people say that some pipes are thin and will glow. If it is red hot, several things can cause this.
1. Running race fuel in a stock compression motor. ( The fuel burns slow and will heat up the pipe)
2. Late timming. (Same as above)
3. Lean on fuel. (Richen the thing up on the main jet.)
The last is probabaly your problem. (Just a guess)

i can tell that u didn't rejet, you just have to do that. incase ur not familiar with rejetting http://www.yellowdogracing.com/techstuff.htm check that out and it will explain what u need to do. and its bad for your bike to run with an aftermarket exhaust and not rejet. plus once u rejet u will see more power

My stock '03 Warrior will glow red when it's just sitting there. Any movement (say a night ride) and it will cool down below the glow point.
Was it sitting there idling or were you riding and it was red?

I have a DMC alien pipe on my Raptor and it glows red after it sets there for a little while. What i have came to terms on is that its just a "thin wall" style header/exhaust pipe. I have a freind that has a stock Foreman450 that does the same thing.

How thick would exhaust material have to be to not glow? Isn't gas exhaust close to 1000 deg. F? I have no clue, I'm just assuming that. That's a lot of heat. And nothing cooling it off.

My YFZ does the same thing,
but the reason is because stock YFZ piping is only a single layer of pipe (most quads have 2, or thicker pipe) I think Yamaha made a YFZ's single layer to save weight...i don't think that's the case on your warrior though..
