Exhaust System for a 300EX
#1
I was wondering what exhaust system would be better for a Honda 300EX. I have been looking at pipes like the DMC Dual exhaust, Duncan Double-Barrel, and Supertrapp IDS2. The FMF Magamax II and FMF Powercore IV squared are not out of the question. If you have one of these on your 4-stroke, please reply to this forum. I need all the information I can get.

I run a Curtis Sparks Racing pipe on my Warrior with a Super Trapp on the end. As one of the premier engine builders, Sparks does impeccable work. Last I heard he does all work himself, so if you can wait you won't be disappointed.I would assume you'd replace the weeny little header on the bike with a better (and bigger)one also, so your ride could exhale.

First off you will not benifit from the DMC,Duncan design exhaust system. Its primary performance is for two header pipes into dual pulse chambers. You only have one header on 300ex.Aside from looks you will have no additional increase in performance over other compareable models.I have seen several pipe combos and personnally have installed the FMF megmax(12 discs)with oversized header(pipe comes chromed already)on wifes 00 300ex.Appx $200 for combo.Fit and finish is top notch.Rejet carb for sea level to 1500 feet is 42 pilot, needle raised one notch and 135 main up to 80* temp.Port airbox lid or remove plus uni filter or K&N w/outerwear.Recommend 14t front sprocket.engine revs much quicker, pulls noticeably harder and 1st through 3rd gear hit rev limiter much faster so regear to take advantage.1st and 2nd gear wheelies require only blip of throttle while 3rd gear wheelies require a tug on bars.top end is increased appx 5-7mph.total cost is appx$250.
