435 Wolverine Problems
#11
Robert,
I'm not ignoring you I've just been busy. I will get you some pictures this weekend. It's all tore apart anyway getting the next overbore.
Thanks for your input on the starting issue, but I think I'm to the bottom of it. Just a series of screw ups on my part lead to a serious overheating issue. Nothing the next size up and additional cooling won't fix. My next post will have to read 446 Wolverine Problems.

Wolzzy - Nice to have another super-wolf around. Sorry to hear about you heating problems. Ive had detonation problems from the wrong octane which led to me rebuilding mine again too. By the way, do you have any top end numbers on you Wolf, and how does compare to the 700?

Speed Demon
I haven't actually clocked it. My 700 has a clutch kit and ignition module in it, other than that it's stock. The Wolverine will take it by about 10ft and hold it's own on top end. I'm running 25" mud lites so there's some extra speed there over stock. I have to admit though that top end isn't really my bag. Where I ride 5th gear is a rarity.
My problems with overheating and starting have been straightened out since the initial post. I had to double the size of the stock cooler as well as the FST cooler. I also need to run it slightly fat and burn a 25% cut of C-12. Runs good though.
Stay in touch. Not many riders out there willing to spend the time and effort on the old 2-valvers.

I'm not sure what the cost would be if Mickey did it. His number is 814-842-6159.
How much extra power are you after? I have a high compression big bore piston from Powroll that I ran for a couple of months. If you're interested I'd sell it for half of new. Brings the displacement up to 365cc and crispens things up a lot.

Wolzzy,,when you say that you doubled the size of the stock cooler, what type/brand did you use? Did you retain the stock lines and fittings? I am looking to upgrade the stock cooler, and would appreciate any and all details. Pics would be a great help, too. Thanks

The cooler was from a Yamaha Moto 4. The bottom mounts fit okay but the headlight bar had to be lifted to accomodate the exta height. Hopefully my Bio will be updated with some pictures. I'm fairly handy with a wrench but suck at computers.
