Flattop pistons would give you too much compression with standard wedge heads. If you were running a machined chamber hemi or twisted wedge with 18-20 degree revised angles, you might be okay without having to flycut your pistons. I personally would run open chambers with a small dish on top of the pistons so the chambers are unshrouded. This in combination with a lightened timing set with shorter chain (needed for align boring) your RPM's will be incredably high. Your 1/8 mile times should drop by at least half a second. You could also pull 10 MPH faster.

Pimp, your right. I hate it when people don't know what they are talking about. Flattop pistons for a banshee. Anyone who owns a 6.1 second banshee should know little about the banshee motor. 2 Strokes must have a dome because they have and angle that is matched to the squish angle of the head. (For reference Blasters use a 9 degree squish angle and banshees use a 12.) This angle is very important for thorough combustion and to keep hot-spots to a minimum.

To turn a 6.1, you either need a LARGE stroker or a turbo. For instance Dan Hulls personal 350 turbo bike runs a 6.03.

Shav0, Flattop pistons are for 4 stroke motors. All of the stuff in my first reply pertains to a 4 stroke motor. I have built a few quick V-8 motors. Most of what I have built myself were fords. I once had a 521CI big block Ford stroker in a 68 2WD truck. It was an animal. The 521 found its way into a 4WD mud race truck and a very healthy 429 took its spot. I just recently sold that truck. I am now building a 400+HP streetable 302 for a 79 2WD for my cousin. I have also helped build a pulling tractor engine, many stock rebuilds on various automotive engines, many, many ATV and motorcyle engines and of course BANSHEES!

I hate to agree Alky, but they do make flat top pistons for 2-strokes.As a matter of fact some old German motorcycles had them. TSR also suplies software for running them.

Allright, I never said anything about fit or power But if you look (from a couple of years ago) MacDizzy built a Banshee with custom Wiseco flat top pistons. That's about all I know without doing a lot of research.Bubba
