Does a pro design airbox on a banshee help alot as far as performance? is it worth getting? do you notice anything when using?(more power)?

I'm not aware of an air box by Pro Design. I wonder if you mean the adaptor kit/filter they have for the existing airbox? If so, I have had the kit on my Warrior for the past couple of years & it is definately worth the $99 for a 4 stroke and I would imagine it would make an even better improvement on a 2 strokes performance to say nothing about the increased life of the top end. If you want just the adaptor itself, it is made for a K&N filter or for the Pro design foam filter. However, I believe the adaptors are brand specific so one has to decide which filter he wants to live with.

yeah thats what i meant, but i dont see how that little piece can make a difference? i know graydon proline sells entire alum. airbox's for banshee's. do you think an entire air box would work even better than the pro disign thing??

if i was to buy it, it would be all for performance and if it doesnt give me anything i wouldnt want it,

I just put the pro flow on mine today. Didn't get to ride much, but I thought maybe a little. But if you think just putting it on is gonna do any good, without more gas in the piston, that's not it's design. If you get more air, you need more gas, or you'll be running lean. But I've heard terrible things about the stock setup, and after seeing it, I wasn't impressed. If your foam filter is ragged out or something at the end that seals it against the box, you would be screwed. And if you put it in wrong, and didn't know it, you'd be screwed. All in all I'd say it's a good investment.

Later,

Jason

Swain,
Well, I wouldnt bet the farm, but I had heard somewhere that Pro Design made one for K&N & another for their own filter. I guess it would be best to call any dealer to confirm that

Yeah they are specific on the type of air filter, i saw in a mag they had an order for k&n ones or pro design filters.

what about the toomey 2into1 setup that doesnt even use an air box? is this only for desert riding or everywhere (besides water and mud)?
i guese if you clean it quite often it would work fine. this setup would work better than having an airbox wouldnt it?(as far as performance and air intake)

maybe i will give that a try, but if anyone can give me info on it that would be great so i dont make a mistake. I live in PA all kinds of conditions, except sand.

By adding the Pr0-Flo adaptor you get a couple of benifits:
1) It eliminates the stock POS air filter design.
2) It allows you to remove the airbox lid. This provides increased airflow. I was able to go up 2 main-jet sizes.

Yes the Pro-design WILL give you a performance boost. I have seen a dyno chart where a stock banshee with the pro design and the K&N make 4.7 more horsepower over stock. Not only that, its something you should do regardless of any perf gains. I bought my 99 barely used and when I went to put my pipes on, I found sand in the carbs because my foam curled up into the air passage. It was not much and luckily did no damage, but i did not start that sucker again until i got the pro design. A rebuild is WAY more expensive than the $89 a pro design costs. Aonther thing, no airbox is not an option for you. Just a little bit of water will shut you down for 15 min to dry out. I am not sure about the Graydon design, never seen it..

well if i take it easy around the puddle's and watch it when im washing it i should be alright. dont you think? because its cheaper than a prodesign thing and i would think it would give the most air the filter can ever get.
