Im assuming you meant 8k to 10k feet.
Yes , that altitude will make your motor run very rich. I think the owners manual, gives info on jetting for those elevations.
You can either go smaller on main jet, or supply more air, by removing the airbox lid. Some people have about 6 1" holes on the lid, which are covered by duct tape, and as they go up, they expose more and more holes, leaning out the mixture. As they come back down, they retape the holes.
Remember to rejet, back to stock when coming back to lower elevations, or itll be too lean.

i wouldnt just take my like off that will make it way to lean when i took my lid off i went from stock which i think is like 135 to a 150, that is alot. i wouldnt change my jet unless my alt is changed by atleast 5000ft. But i dont know were u are at right now so i cant tell u if to changed or not.
