CDI Question
#1
My Warrior is only a year old, and the CDI unit puked on me. I had a loose battery terminal connection, and sometimes, I would have to wiggle the cable around to get it to start. So my question is, can a loose connection like that cause damage to ignition components?

Like Klapper says.....Absolutely...any loose conection can cause undo voltage loss and/or spikes. If you have a loose ground or similar connection...the spike will have nowhere to go but through the component. Which could cause failure. I would think that most units have a built in failsafe to protect against such incidents...But since most dealors will not release the internal specs of a CDI box...It is hard to diagnose.
I know that the warrior does have a fuse out back....You did check that right? (I'm sure...I just had to ask)

Unfortunately, Yammie electrics are always more $$ than their Honda conterparts.
There's now a few aftermarket companies making CDI's for some models, but I have yet to find one that works as well as the stocker for the Banshee.
