does anyone know if there is some kind of tachometer available for atvs? I looked around and haven't found any for single cylinder motors at all.

i know that there is one for the DS 650. when u get the X-package it comes with a tach. maybe u could get them to sell u a tach as a replacement for the DS, and u could hook it up to whatever quad u have. the tach is mounted on the handlebars, so if u know how to install the sensors or whatever, then it should work. i want to put a tach on my bike as well, how exactly do u install the sensors or whatever they're called?

last night i learned that Trail-Tech is developing a tach/speedometer/engine temp computer. i dunno how long it will take til it's out, or how much it will cost, but i sent them an e-mail. when i get some info i'll post it.

Try Hi-lifter. I think they carry one for four strokes.

If you want a good one get a digatron, I've use a digatron playback tach for years, if you want a cheap on get a tiny tach for $50.00

digatron

Below is the reply I got from Trail Tech.

The tach is in development now, and is expected to be completed early next
year (2005). In addition to RPM features, it will offer speed, distance,
ambient temp., and engine temp with the purchase of an optional temp.
sensor. It will also have 12 volt connection capability.

eh, figures. they said spring when i called about a month ago. my friend's dad has a DS with no rev limiter, and has a Tach, like one that you would mount on a steering column on a car or something. i wonder if this is possible to set up on any quad.
