Default SPROCKET questions!

I was going to buy a sproket kit for a 300ex to put on my X but it gives me a choice of teeth for the front 12-14 teeth and for the rear 36-39 now im tring to make the X have a lil more power and at the same time some speed to top it off so what should i get for the front and back? and what will be the end results

thanks!

well first what is your stock sprocket sizes?? if you lower the front sprocket you gain power and lose top speed, bigger one makes more top end less power. and the rear sprocket, the smaller the faster, larger the slower

No, sorry, you can't have your cake and eat it too! By changing sprockets you can get EITHER better accelleration OR more top speed - but a sprocket change just can't give you both. For more topend speed you go with more teeth up front/less teeth in rear. For quicker holeshots or the ability to get around on very tight technical trails without having to slip the clutch, do just the opposite.
