I have a 99 Big Bear 350. I installed a DJ performane kit and a K&N filter. I had a bunch of trouble at first as it would barley run with the needle c-clip installed where DJ suggested for my elevation. I moved the clip up a notch and it runs great. I seem to have gained alot of mid to high end. Yesterday I was on a trail in the back of my land, and got sideways on a steep down grade. I didn't have the power to back out of it. Full throttle, no move. I know I've been in similar situation before, and had no problem, also seems more boggy pulling my utility trailer around. Is this typical?

Lets put it this way, you opened up the intake tract to accepted more fuel and air, now the exhaust is restricting the flow, you can't do one without doing the other.

 

Any recommendations on a new pipe? Heard good things about Big Gun Utility.

Big Gun and White Brothers are both good, used both on previous machines. I got the FMF powerline... If your looking for something with a quiet sound, i recomend this.

 

hey man, i have the supertrapp ids2 quiet series exahust pipe, and man this thing is a hell of a pipe. It too installed a k&n Filter, dyno jet jet kit, and the pipe all at the same time and it takes off like a roket and just keeps on going. I would def. reccomend this pipe, and you can pick them up relatively cheap.
