KX250 IN MOJAVE
#1
The mojave project is going well,When I first set the motor in the frame I was suprised how well It fit. I had to cut the frame right in front of the motor below the radiator. One issue I am running into is ,because the 2-stroke is narrower than the 4-stroke the kick starter is set inside the frame .Does anyone have any suggestions for me?I just got the engine back from the machine shop today,Theyhad to machine me some bushings for the rear motor mount,Because the Mojave swing arm shaft is a little smaller. The pipe will have to be tweeked slightly.Other than that everything is going awsome,I have cut off all of the extra metal that was not going to be used to lighten it up. The silencer runs inside he frame next to the rear shock.I am probably going to use the ohlins shock off the KX250,I think it will fit perfect after I stretch out the swing arm 3". Any thoughts or ideas?????? There are some pics on my pic site,www.msnusers.com/MXQUAD Enjoy!!!!! I also chopped the fenders, the frame will be orange, swing arm and a-arms will be silver, white plastics, and I do custom seats so it will have an orange, charcoal, and gripper custom carbon fiber material seat!Of course offset aluminum wheels with maxxis razr's all around, and a bunch of stuff I am planning on. HASTA FOR NOW!!!

kx250? should work good....i got a suzuki dr 750 in my mojave...400ex's and raptors both jetted and pipes/racing cam cant catch me..i can run with them in second gear when theyre wide open in top gear... fastest speed i know i had it going is 105 mph......the whole conversion took 16 hours..and its a blast. it requires alot of mount and frame mods but you probably already know that...will have pic soon

That sounds way cool. I would love to see some pictures. After building the lower motor mount, and getting ready to haul the thing down to the exhuast shop for some pipe mods. I noticed the sprocket not lining up. I have no idea what happened. So I cut off the old mount and redoing it.What teeth sprockets are you running captaininsano?

UPDATE:
I just got my quad back from exhuast shop today. He did an awsome job adjusting the pipe to fit in the frame. He also built me an intake tube.I finished the last motor mount, the radiator mount, the pipe/silencer mounts, and some odds and ends tonight. I have also grinded off all of the tabs and brackets that were from the stock motor that I wont use.I have carved the plastics and gotten rid of the rear fender stabilizer bar and basically anything that it unecesary weight. It is lookin awsome. Its about ready to be stripped down and painted. I also made the seat for it. Check it out at www.msnusers.com/MXQUAD there are also some other seats on there I have done recently. The one for the Mojave is the orange/charcoal/black flame seat that says KX on the back. I am frickin stokes to straddle this baby and go for a ride. I have about 60 hours into it so far. I am tking my time because I not only want it to perform but I want it to look clean and hot.I think I have a plan for the kick starter!! HASTA
