Looking for more power on Rancher ES

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda REancher ES and I put Super Swamper TSL's 26x9.50x12 on front and 26x9.50x11 on rear and I have noticed that they have robbed some of my power, "which I expected".
What i'm wanting to know is there any "bolt on" performance parts that can be added to replace the lost power. I have been told by some to get a K&N filter and jet kit and a racing spark plug and a Supertrapp IDS exhaust system, and some say that rejetting the carb wouldnt add any more noticable power and that it would only lead to carb problems in the future, such as running rich, and that by adding the IDS exhaust, you wouldnt notice any power gain either. Well, i'm looking for suggestions.

your gear ratio is off with your taller tires all you have to do is gear it with a smaller front sprocket or larger rear sprocket. Use the following to figure you ratio
front sprocket / rear sprocket x tire height x 3.14
13 / 39 x 22 x 3.14 = 20.724
you will want a sprocket ratio that is the same as your bike came with when it had the smaller tires, this will bring back your performance

Well, regearing would be fine except I often switch back and forth between my 24" stock tires and my 26" mud tires. So bacically, I'm just courious to see if anyone has installed a performance kit on their Rancher and what's the after result. I'm just courious if there is any external "bolt on" performance parts that will give me a little more power.

so what you are saying is you would rather compromise performance because you don't want to put on a larger rear gear and make up a short chain link to add to your chain when you put on your taller tires. There are many expensive add ons you can do, but if you still don't change your gearing when you change tire size you will always be compromising performance.

regearing isn't an option ( sprocket wise ) the rancher is a shaft drive machine. Go to www.highlifter.com and look into there high performance kits...... I put one on mine and it made a huge difference....... in there forums there are guys running 27's with the hp kit with no probs...

The Honda Rancher started life in 2000 and there isn't any difference between the 2000 and the 2001 models, price is even the same. I have noticed one bad thing about the Rancher, since sales are so high dealers are not as willing to deal as with any other models. I actually almost didn't but mine because I got ticked off at my dealer because he wouldn't budge off of the MSRP price, but I have one so I guess that proves their point........lol
