Raptor PWR Radiator
#1
Anyone got one on their bike? How much of an improvement did it make in decreasing your temps? I'm running just jets, pipe and filter and am overheating on tight indoor supercross type tracks. I'm hoping this will keep it from getting hot.
Anyone want to comment on their experiences with the PWR?

I run a full Big Gun system, with a pro-flow K&N system. My jets are 145/150, 3rd clip, 2 1/2 turns out. However, my fan does work, and my practice track is extremely tight. I have only one straight where I can actually get air moving through the radiator. All the other sections are full of big jumps, and I'm usually lugging in third or fourth gear to get over them. My plug shows I'm running a little rich, but not too much.
While I have been considering rejetting, I'm not sure if this is the problem. I was running with my lid off when I was overheating. I am putting the lid back on, with 5 1/2'' holes drilled in it. I'm sure this would make me have to rejet, especially considering the colder temps.
However, I'm convinced that I was overheating because I could've fried an egg on the sidecases!

DJ?
Well, I got the radiator and put it on. Though I won't have a chance to test it before I jet it because my track is under water!
If I don't jet it myself this week (depending on weather) I'm having a local shop tune it for me.

If you can read a spark plug, replace the radiator, replace the exhaust, and replace the air filters, you can jet it yourself. If you are running Dynojet jets and needles, you're probably close. I ran 146/148 with a similar setup and it was spot on at sea level. If you are running stock (Mikuni) needles and jets though, that's the reason your quad is getting too hot, you are running lean. Since it overheated when you had the lid off, I suspect that may be your problem. If you are running Mikuni jets and needles, take LT250RFatty's advice and bump those jets up to 155/160.

yes, I'm jetting it myself tomorrow. I'm running a GYTR jet kit, needles, pilots, mains, etc. I finally ran it today and read the plug and yes, it is lean. With the dropping temperature, I'm sure I'll have to take it at least to 155/160. Everything is the same, except the lid. I put it back on and drilled 5 1/2" holes in the top just above the filter. I'll probably try 155/160 first and back the fuel screws out to three turns. How's that sound?
