I know there have been a thousand questions asked about streetbike motors, but I was just wondering if anyone on here has measured and weighed some of them. Don't know if I would like to go with a 600 or bigger, all depends on weight and dimensions. If anyone has any useful info let me know!

I've seen quite a few of them in conversions... they run good, reliable, but are typically pretty heavy.

I'm in the middle of a conversion now. I'm putting a kx650 into a quadzilla frame. Net weight gain 63 lbs, lost 2" ground clearance on frame, the motor is 8" wider but it is widest near the front and the footpegs, shifter, and brake didn't need to be changed. hope this helps

Too heavy. Go with a sled or banshee motor. Street bike motors dont work as well as everyone thinks they would. They do have a lot of hp, but weigh too much. Ive seen 2 200 hp gsxr quads get smoked by banshees with half the power out in glamis. Just not a great idea for up hill dragging. Please dont be offended, thats just my opionion.

Hey white96banshee. How about looking at an old 750 Kawasaki triple from the 70s. These were 3 cylinder air cooled two strokes. These were wicked bikes in their days. Probably as big and light that I can think of.

Thanks for all of the opinions guys. I have thought about sled motors, but that seems like it would be more of a drag setup. I'm looking for something with more hp than I need but fun to just mess around with. I know that street bike motors are dependable which is the main thing I'm looking for. Keep the opinions coming though, I'm open to any ideas.
