Default Need a Cam expert please!

I have milled the head on my little 150cc buggy, that has allowed the cam to be about 1/2 a tooth off (I noticed when I took it apart that it was originally a little off before milling it anyway). Would there be any advantage moving the cam from its now slightly retarded position in the other direction to being 1/2 tooth advanced. It may not be exactly 1/2 tooth off but it is close.

thanks,
Kell

A half tooth retarded will slightly shift the power range towards the upper end of the power range.....letting the engine operate more efficiently in the upper rpm range. Advancing the cam will do the opposite. With the shaved head I would recommend you determine how much clearance you have to avoid the engine binding up or worse. Shaving the head and advancing the timing could get you into a possible detonation problem BTW. Shaving the head may make a colder plug necessary.

Thanks, I'll leave it where it is. I don't have any clearance issues and it runs great, just looking for that extra edge.
