There are a million posts on this subject, so you might want to try searching this and other forums. The long and short of it is, the 440 is a whole new quad. With an 11:1 piston, cam, pipe, filter, and rev box, you will smoke your 400 buddies so bad they won't want to ride with you. If you ride trails the stock bike is fine. If you race, ride dunes or open desert, the 440 is a must.

im forced to agree the extra 40cc's may not sound like much but what your really buying is all the mods it comes with like a midrange cam spring kit etc.. yea its pretty killer iv rode a ct 440ex it pulls harder from bottom to a very respectable topend

i can't say much about a stock Banshee or a 400EX.I went from a stock Warrior to a 2000 Big Bore 440 EX and promptly broke 3 ribs and dislocated a shoulder.Whooops this is going to leave a mark!!! But monica81 is right no pwr band and hang on from bottom to top.The banshees look confused when you are beside them and the stock EX gives way. He has to.hahahaha Ridin'red till I'm dead. SAMMY
