I know its no sport but I wondered what I can do to the Bayou to get it to be a little snappier and just have more power in general.

Best bet would be to put some vents in your airbox lid (or just drill holes if you're not going in DEEP mud) then install a UNI or K&N air filter. Install a pipe and then re-jet the carb. That should be good for like 3 HP I'd say.

Also switch to synthetic fluids in everything that will lessen the parasetic loss (power at the crank to the wheels)

Bayou 300 is a nice machine, of course not a sport quad but very reliable. My dad has a Bayou 400 and I love it.

So you wouldn't recomend just removing the air box? Also do these jet kits richin the mixture or lean it out? How bout putting a bigger carb on it? One more. Should I go with an entire exhaust system or should I just with a new muffler? I notice the complete systems are quite a bit more $$$ but do they come with bigger head pipe or is it mainly the muffler that I am going to get the performance from?
