Default Raptor 660 stock air filter

I was told at my local Yamaha dealer that the stock air filter on the Raptor is a very good filter. I orginally went to pick up a k&N but they talked me out of it by saying the stock filter if just as good, and the K&N is just more trouble beacuse it requires more maintence. They said i would be better off going with a K&N modded air box lid. Any comments would be helpful

The K&N will be a improvement over stock and the more air plus the jetting will give you more power plus cleaner air flow.

Right now its piped and jetted, but im running the stock filter. Im not sure tho if i should go with a K&N. It runs great as is. The K&N filters are around 75 dollers i believe thats alot for just a filter.

The stock one for me was nothing but crap! That was my first mod, getting the Pro Design w/ K&N from Rocky Mountain the engine breaths better with much better protection. It needs some drilling but it's worth it. Every Raptor owner should run this setup.

when i first got the 660r i got the yosh pipe jets and k&n but the motor still felt slugish i took the lid off at the drag strip and gaind a full second in the 1/8th mile. i went from a 9.9 seconds to a 8.9 seconds. i put the stock filter in and left the lid off and it ran the exact same time

I would go with the lid and wait till the stock filter is wore out.
