Default would it be worth it and how much do u think if possible?

well i have every extention on my fourhweeler like axle and a-arms i want the swing arm extened on my 250x... but i just dont have the money to go out and buy a new one.. i was wondering would it be cheeper to get someone to cut mine where i want them to and weld in a +3 extention on it? i dont know how much it would cost and i was wondering would it still be strong? thats the main issue for me will it hold up i have a uncle that welds profesionally and he could do it.. i was also wondering would u have to make the piece curved that u put in it or could it be just a straight piece of steel that just welds on? i was told that the aftermarket swing arms have a slight bend to them?? please give me all the info u can thanks!

I'm not familiar off hand with the design of the 250x swingarm but none that I've ever seen were curved. Yes what you are talking about sounds very possible and reasonable IMO. I have a 2 inch extension in my stock swingarm and its held up for a year of riding now with no problems. My cousin owns a machine/welding shop and fabbed it up for me. If you can get it done for a decent price I say go for it.

a longer swing arm would be great. but i dont think that you should think about sacrificing the integrity of the stock swing arm but cuttiny it and welding it back. it definately wont be as strong. if you jump your wheeler you will soon find out how strong it is... i personally think that you would be riding a death trap. if your family member does the welding he should be able to cut your swing arm. and ask your uncle because he is the one that would be putting it back together. but i wouldnt recommend it.

well i race MX, and enduro so i am just mainly worried about the stability of the swing arm my uncle does welding for a living... and hes pretty dang good.. he has built many costom dune duggs and stuff like that.. also he has took the center wheels off one truck and welded them in a nother wheel for some reason unknown my friend wanted it done and he did it and its heald up for a very long time no problems.. he mudds this truck and everything

I trust my cousin's bead just as much as I'd trust lonestars, the only difference is he's piecing something together so it will lose strength unless it is braced. Which mine is.

Done right its a cheap and safe alternative for moderate use. If you're hitting 50' jumps on a regular basis I suggest springing for a completely new arm and rear shock rebuild/revalve.
