Default Faster 300EX

Hey all, Im new here (name's Tyler).

I have a 2003 Honda 300EX, Its a great quad, starts up fast, runs great, decent speed.

But of course, I need more.

What can I do to make it fast?

I have already ordered a few visual mods ;
Rage Performance Nerf Bars, Italian UFO Plastics, FMF Seat.

And for performance, all ive ordered in an FMF PowerCore4 Pipe.

Any suggestions? Will a K&N help, etc.

Thanks!

The K&N will help also try jets, bigger front sproket, and a high rev CDI.

I have a 2000 300EX. I did the CDI box alone and it was like night and day. I just put on a White Brothers exhaust (complete system) but it's running lean, so I have a jet kit coming. Short money mods until I can research the 406 big bore kit a bit more .....

Welcome to the forums Tyler

After you put on a pipe, you should rejet... you can gain quite a bit of power by having your quad jetted right. The K&N will help alot, but you have to clean it alot too. Next, I would go with a high-comp. piston, carb, and maybe a big bore/stroker kit ( if you have the money)...

That PowerCore IV should come with a header (mine did)! If it doesn't, get one before you install the muffler and rejet. That stock header is pathetic.........

There are lots of post on the foam vs K&N issue, so you can do a search on that. Personally, I would never trust one of my precious engines to a K&N. You ride the dusty desert, so don't take a chance! I would suggest a UNI filter, but see my comments here....... http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...y&keyword1=uni

And, if you still are running stock tires, replace them with some Holeshot XC's!
