My vote would be for the 38 A/S, the throttle response is better than a plain PWK. 39mm's is in some peoples opinion a tad large for a plain 250.

I think it matters what your using the bike for, if your running mx then the 38 a/s is the carb, but if your drag racing flat out in 6th gear, the 39 pwk will give you just a little more. I have a 38 a/s on my 250 and a 39 pwk on my ct350

I have the 38 AS on my 250r. I absolutely love the carb. As far as how much difference it makes, I am not sure. The motor was rebuilt (v-force reeds added) all at the same time. But the trottle response is great and I am very happy with the carb.

Both, K&K and REP (motor guy) suggest the 38 AS is the best right now for MX on the 250R.

Of course, my motor guy told me about a brand new carb, forgot the name, for the 250r that is supposed to add about 5 more hp upon bolt on. I think the cost is about $500. But here is the kicker! You do not have to change jets! There is a screw on the top of the carb that some how changes the jetting. The thing look awesome, but for the extra money, I decided to pass.

My 250r has stock carb, and it pulls really hard. I has some much bottom end and top end that it keeps up with modified banshees. The Only things that I have on my quad are FMF pipe and silencer, the reeds are still stock, and I put in a (thin) high compression head gasket. I think the piston is still stock.
I ride on really soft terrain (grable).
Now I want to get some more power. I think I am goint to get the cylinder ported and Vforce reeds. Maybe I will consider the air stryker later, oh by the way how much is it?
Well peace you all.

MY 250r still has the stock carb and I beat a ct310 and a paul turner 330r to the first corner. My bike pulls extremly hard.My freind rode it hit the power ban in third and couldn't reach up to grab the clutch. It is fast and handles awesome.LONG LIVE THE R!!!!!!It was funny because the guy sitting next to me at the gate was bragging about how fast his ct310 was.Until he was eating my dust.
