Aftermarket ignition coil compatibility with ATVs?
#1
I own a 2005 Suzuki Ozark 250 with quit a few modifications on it. Currently, every time I add a new modification, I have to lower my spark plug gap in order to prevent spark blowout at high rpms. My current gap is set at 0.023". I am about to do another modification though that will require me to lower the gap even more with the stock ignition coil.
So, is it possible to change out my stock ignition coil to an aftermarket ignition coil designed for a car? They are MUCH stronger and should allow me to open the gap out to 0.035" or so which will yeild more power. I am concerned about a hotter ignition coil burning up my stock CDI box.
