OK. Here's the deal. I have a shee, I'm quite happy with its power and handling (I could even say I'm very happy), but it has one default. It's a common bike.
I was thinking about getting a tecate4 and put a 500KX engine in it. Would it fit??
I guess I will have to get a unique pipe (or does the stock kx fit?), maybe reinforce some stuff.
Has it already been done?

 

I would like to put a cr500/kx500/yz500 motor in a blaster... that sounds scary.

 

Zorro, I think the biggest problem would be vibration since the KX500 eng does not have a counterbalancer. Bryan

 

Why would it vibrate more than it does on the bike? The bikers can handle that...ATVers can't??
Seriously, I hear everywhere that the MX Bikes engines have terrible vibrations when in quad frames...don't they do the same in the bike frame?
I could put silentblocks everywhere anyway...and if I get a chance to do this, vibrations ain't gonna stop me (just shake a little)!

 

well it does vibrate the same on a bike but you don't notice it because it only has 2 wheels, with 4 wheels the vibrations are more noticable.
I know a guy that put a punched out kx 500 motor in a tecate 4, with nitrous but once he got it all together I don't think the nitrous was used, it was fast enough. I am not sure what he used for a pipe but I think it was a 500 pipe.
For you guys that want the bike motor in the blaster go with a yz 250, just remember to extend the swingarm and but hydro brakes on there. It works trust me..
