I had a JE 12:1 piston and a Hot Cam installed in my 06' 350 Raptor at the local Yamaha shopand it sounds like it has excessive valve lash. I talked to the tech there who did the work and he said that is normal. They are a very reputable shop but, I have been doing my own engine work on cars all my life and I have never had that sound after a cam install. Does any one know if this is normal for a Hot Cam install?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

yes ,that is normal on these engines. i have a hot cam w/kibblewhite springs in my wolverine and it ticks like a champ! i reset the tappets...same thing. just ignore it even though it makes it sound like a pos. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
