300ex mods to resemble a 400ex
#11
What I would do is to get the 400ex front end, the shocks, a-arms, tie rods, and then build the upper shock mount and mount it all up. That should be less than $200, I have a set off my 250r that are basically the same as a 400ex that I will sell you, e-mail me at rhino99@hotmail.com if interested. Anyway, there's $200, now get a high compression piston and a cam, maybe bore it out to like a 305cc or something as well. This should be about $300 or so. There is $500. Get a wider axle and longer swingarm there is the rest of your $1000 and you will have a pretty sweet 300ex that should run with any stock 400 and some modded ones.

I also have 250r front end. shocks, brake lines, tie rods, a arms tops powder coated blue botoms black. all bushings included. When you put this front end on your quad you will need to raise the front shock mounts on your frame. I can send you some pictures of my front end if you like. Very good shape. shiny as new. I will also find the site that explains how to change the front shock mounts.

Serious mods for under $1000.00???
[1] Used ATC350X engine
[2] TC Racing engine install kit including exhaust header
[3] Goki electric start kit
7 more horsepower, 6 speed [no rev], and an engine that you can build more power out of than a 400EX when you get more money.
