i was wondering if any one has any information on a air box mod for a 500 scrambler and what do they cost and any good power gain and does any one have a kromelite bumper on the scrambler and what is the price

It depends on how far you intend to go with your mods. RCR's airbox mod is like $40 (I think). Check his page www.rittercycle.com

If you plan to get a pipe, when somebody gets around to making a nice one for the 500, you would be better off getting a new 38TMX carb, taking out your airbox, and running a K&N (appx $250 for pre-jetted carb/ filter/ outerware).

This would not only add a few HP, but drastically improve throttle response.

Call RCR or Hot Seat.

Forgot about the bumper, dont waste $$ for the Krome-lite. Get the standard alloy series. Again check with Hot Seat or a dealer for a price. My DG was like $100, last year. Look in a new DW or ATV Sport for a current DG add. They have a Sport on it, but your bumper will look the same.

My bad , I'm always thinking 400. I meant the 42TMX. Talk to Rick Ritter about boring your 40mm. I know he bores the 400's 34mm to 35.5mm, but unsure if he'll do a 40mm.
