posi or limited slip....

so......is my bayou posi or limited slip????......my theory is.... if I had an axle where it was a straight shaft driving both wheels at the same time.....how would I turn???......does a differential have anything to do with this???...I need help...I would like to put a chain drive on my shaft driven bayou...I have a motor that will run a chain driven axle....but with a straight axle......can I turn sharply??? any help is appreciated!!

Sport bikes are locked, due to the fact that both tires share the same axle. There is no differential on a sport quad (minus the Outlaw). If they're on a high traction surface they'll usually just pick up the inside tire when turning.

Unless the quad has independent rear suspension, the rear axle is one solid piece, in one side and out the other. No differential action of any kind. When you make a turn one tire will spin, usually the one on the inside of the turn.
Ever ride with 2 people on it, on a paved driveway? With all that extra weight on the rear my warrior and recon would hardy steer at all, regardless of the direction I pointed the front tires.
I'm sure you've turned sharp in your yard before. All that grass that gets torn up is because your tires are fighting each other trying to spin, so usually they both end up slipping and churning up some grass.

Posi is a type of limited slip differiential. Posi is made by a company named Eaton. In the rear of your bayou you have a solid locked axle no differiential. Unless you have a 2wheel drive 300 then it is a selectable diff. A selectable diff is where you have a open normal diff like in a car until you make it lock up solid by some means. 4wheel drive 300 has a locked rear axle and a limited slip front diff. Also some people call a limited slip diff LSD.
