extending a swing arm?

Default extending a swing arm?

Hello I am extending a swing arm for a ATV.Lets say I am going to extend a swing arm 2" do I need to move the shock mount up 2" or leave it where it is.Thanks

It's best to extend the swingarm behind the shock mount, so that the bottom mounts in the same location it did before.

Great thanks i will try to leave the shock mount at the same distance from the front pivoting point.Will this keep the same ride height?I mean if i lengthen it 2" and leave the same shock location it should make it higher I believe. Thanks

It will make the angle higher, but there will be increased leverage on the shock so it'll sag down and offset some of the ride height increase.
