400EX--oil temp dipstick
#3
So far it's working pretty good. And is starting to provide tempature history in different operating conditions. This time of year running about 175-250 degrees,Depending on how you ride.Has about 150 short trip miles on it.Still breaking in 2 nd 400 motor.
The only thing I would change would be giving it a white background with black numbers and red needle. Instead of black background with white numbers with same needle.A little hard to read with gogles on while ridding.

Well it was good while it lasted.
The dipstick failed this weekend, The guage filled up with oil then foged to the point I could'nt see anything.
WB- said just send it back we'll send you another one.
One thing I did notice that is, If you hold the guage in one hand, You can spin the dipstick with your other hand.I think it leaked between the stick and the guage. The next one I'm gona silicon that joint shut.

great idea to monitor your oil temp. Remember that the biggest danger to 4-strokes is cold oil and from what I can make out the oil temp. dipstick is located in the oil tank. The oil then goes through the cooler so be careful of how you interprate your readings. As engine builders we know that sump oil temp. can quite safely be up in the 120-130 degrees C. region. After the cooler 80-90 degrees C is ideal.
