The first thing I would reccommend would be experence. Some of my best mentors were old school woods riders. No matter how fast I made my quad they allways use to walk away from me.It just takes time. And souround your self with riders that are better than you and be a sponge.
Other than that.Have good tires,Don't bend your axle on a tree,And stear with the rear.
One of the best riders I learned from use to do 50 mph (trx250r)down a snow covered road, slam the bars to the left,Do three donuts then cut back to straight like it was nothing....Then again he's just nuts.
Oh yea, nice pipe and reeds.

I have the fmf fatty torque pipe and I find it didn't add much if any power over stock but definitely stays in the midrange power band better (doesn't bog and fall out of it), which is good for climbing hills, but my stock pipe worked fine really for most trail situations and was better on gas, and a few people told me reeds don't make a very noticable difference for the price, but they are a good replacement if you need new ones. So I don't think a pipe is worth the money unless you are going to get a screamer for duning or drag racing which add a fair amount of power, but for 20 bucks the thinner CR250 head gasket definitely adds more bottom end pop to it, make sure you run premium gas. And I agree with the tires, definitely the most important thing, I use Holeshots and love them for hard pack trails, gravel, dirt hill climbs. I also think some front shocks would make you faster over most conditions than any power mods, as losing control is usually the only thing keeping me from climbing some of the rough hills..

install a smaller bore carb and you will see great improvement in bottom end and very little loss in top end power. also if you know a good machinist have him make a 2 mm smaller sleeve for the output side of your carb and it will work pretty well also. e mail me if you want more info on carb sleeves.
