jetting for a new exhaust

i have a Quad Sport 250 and have just purchased a dg rcm aluminum silencer and was wondering where to start on the main jet. i live at sea level

Justin, altho I'm afraid I don't know what a quad sport really is, assuming you have the stock main jet now, try one main jet fatter, again assuming you have made no other modification to your air intake. The needle jet should be in the center slot. At sea level this should put you right on the money.Try running it at 3/4 to full throttle for a 1/4 mile or so . If it isn't cutting out then one size fatter is what you needed.It certainly won't do any harm to take a plug reading immediately after running at the above speed. Light brown electrode is perfect. Grey or white would be very lean, but I would doubt that will be the case.
