Has anyone ever put a water temperture gauge on a Banshee? If so, where did you mount the sending unit and the gauge? It seems to me that you would want to measure the temp. right at the point were the water exits the engine. Also, on average, at what temp. does a Banshee run?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I've done a few gauges. You're right about wanting to read the temp of the water coming out of the motor. I put a "T" in the line coming out of the head on the Banshees, and brazed a fitting in the "T" to accept the sending unit. The best place for the gauge itself, is behind one of your lights (just hovering off the fender). I've used the upper shock bolt, and the headlight bolt to mount my gauge brackets, and either works great (but you will need to use a longer bolt). IMPORTANT: Use a liquid filled gauge. I almost rattled the needle off the first Banshee I did!

My Banshee generally runs at 180. I also run at sea level, near the ocean, and on cooler days, so that might not tell you much.

I'll email you pictures of this setup if you like. It's really quite trick.
