40hp on 300ex possible without big bore or stroker

my friend has a 450r, and his friend has a 300ex which he claims can keep up with his 450r and has 40hp.... is it possible? how much money would it take

the 300ex does not have a big bore or a stroker

thats what i thought, but maybe he has one of those 300ex's that are like the 400ex's that go 86mph, or was it 186mph?

One of the magazines, years ago featured a 300EX that would beat a stock 400EX. The 300's forte is its smaller size, making it the ultimate tight trail quad. Anywhere else, it is at a huge disadvantage.....
