NOS and more???
#11
Now I think I know all there is to know about fuel can any one tell me how a stroker crank can bump up my CC's with out changing my bore. I have to wait to see if I can get an alcohol carb for my manifould. Whats that diferance between Propolyne oxide and NOS?

Propelyne oxide is a liguid aditive which oxegenates the fuel, plus adding some very potent hydro carbons. It is not injected like NOS, you mix it in the fuel. The bore is not the only thing that determines the CC's. The two factors that influence this is the diameter of the piston and the distance it travels, or Bore and stroke. By stroking the motor, you are increasing the distance that the piston travels. Find out what size size carb you need and I can probably find one for you pretty cheap.

All a stroker crank does is move where the rod connects to the crank out farter from the center. Thus changing the angle and leverage ratio of the rod making it easier to turn the crank. It gains cc's because when you figure the size of the motor, now thier is a bigger number, the distance between the center of the crank and rod.

I am going to have to disagree with you sickman. It is true that the distance from the center of the crank to the rods is greater, but that is not how you figure the cc's of the motor. The cc's of the motor are calculated using the bore and stroke. The stroke is how far the piston travels, which is determined by By the circumferance that the crank travels. To cc a motor all you have to do is measure the bore and then drop your mic into the bore and measure the distance between BDC(bottom dead center) and TDC(top dead center) then plug it into the formula. You dont have to tear down the motor and measure the crank and rods. I do agree with you on the reason it works. To understand this, try to throw a ball one day with your arm tucked in tight against your body then throw with your arm in full rotation. WHich one goes further? I love these kind of posts! Much much better than "what size super swampers should I get."! Be good all!!

hey, I am interested in running alcohol or some other fuel additive in my 300ex. i'm sick of people telling me i have a crappy bike. i was thinking since i was getting a bigger carb i should buy a new one and send my old one into ctracing. and what about propyline oxide could i run it without modifying the cooling since my engine is air cooled.and are there any other types of "speed drugs" for four strokes. and thank you every one for the info posted on this bbs i have learned alot
