Default Best pipe for z400

Hi guys im wondering what would be the best pipe in your opinion for my z400. Its a 03 model which is about to recieve a K&N air filter and lid. Everything else is stock. I mainly trail ride with the occasional open field-sand pits fun in the sun. Thanks. Also, am i better off just buying a slip on pipe or going full??? Thank you.

I have posted the same topic in the past bro!! I got a lot of Yoshimura answers and a lot of White bros. answers. I know alot of people with Yoshimura and it seems well made but it is high dollar. Alot of people run FMF also. My cousin went full on his Raptor and doesn't think it made a real world difference against a slip on. If your not drag racing I would save the money and get the slip on. Also check out ebay for better deals on stuff. I have been told to buy a cherry bomb which will replace the ignition module to raise the rev limit. I think Yoshi makes but Im not sure. I just bought the wife a 07 Z400 and am also looking at mods!!

Good luck!!

Sounds good fellas. Only concern i have is with re-jetting and screwing something up. From what i have read the stock jetting is 130 22.5 and also ill have to remove the plastic and gas tank to get at them. Is it really hard to rejet because i dont know how to do it. My girlfriend actually bought me this bike and it came without a manual so im kinda clueless right now. Thanks for the input.

ps. I heard that when you purchase a WB E2 slip on exhaust you dont need to rejet anything with the lid still on. Is this true???

Go full system. I got a Ct racing on mine, there is just no comparison when you lay the stock exhaust beside the after market one. And I'd recommend the ct as well, its awesome and adds tonnes of power all the way through the power ban. O ya and it came in second in the Dirt Wheels pipe shoot out, only reason it lost was because the Yoshi titanium system was lighter. I hear HMF makes a really good full system as well.

its very easy to get the carb off ,you dont have to take any platic off to remove the carb. loosen the clamps take off the hoses and the choke, push the carb backward and pull to your self , the only thing left attached is the throttle cable and you dont have to remove that to change the jets. one thing you should do is replace the 4 screws with allen head screws , your going to find that the screws that you take out
are very soft and easy to bugger up .
