Anybody know any "free" performance tricks? Home brewed stuff that one can do at home without spending any cabbage...

Just curious, love to hear your ideas...

Ok, I'll start this off....
Was looking over the 350 a while ago and it hit me... run a smaller rear tire. That would be like putting a steeper gear in the rear end... would probably get "on plane" a little quicker, and pull a little harder. Still does not help bottom end torque (where holeshots come from, not necessarily horsepower) but it will spin up the RPMs quicker.

I might have to pick me up a set of wheels and tires off a Raptor to try this one out...

This is the ancient old engine out of the Warrior that we were riding 20 years ago, right???

I would consult those who have moded the Warrior, especially from pre 99 (when the 400EX came along and everybody dumped their Warrior!). This engine has quite a bit of hop up potential!

Back in those days, there weren't any "new" quads coming out. If you picked up a magazine during that time, all there was were article about moding your Banshee, 250R, Warrior, and 300EX....that's how sad things were back then!

Post your question in the Yamaha forum, if you haven't already.

On my Warrior, I just did the standard mods, and it helped quite a bit. You couldn't open up the airbox, because the lid held the filter in place. I just did and FMF header and muffler, and even that helped a lot.

Backpressure in the exhaust will favor low end power, and a free flowing exhaust will favor high end. We use to install a "torque stuffer" in the header if we wanted more low end grunt.

Of course, all this playing around requires rejetting!
