Default running too rich

I recently put my jet kit in and I noticed that I'm running too rich. I probably wont get to fix that for a little while but i have some trips I want to make pretty soon. Is it going to hurt anything if I put quite a few miles on it before I readjust my jets?

Depends on how rich is rich. It will also depend on if your at 4000' and your trip is as sea level. If so, I would not change them. If the other way I would change them if you are fouling plugs now.

Ok, so I'm at about 900Ft right now and I'm too rich. If I went up to say 2000Ft I probably would not be running as rich and if I went lower then I would be running more rich than I am now, right? I'm trying to make sure i'm getting this right.

You have the altitude thing backward. Higher altitude means less dense air, so the ratio of fuel to air is even worse than before (to little air has the same effect as to much fuel). You will be even richer at higher altitude........

But......a 2,000' altitude change is nothing. You probably won't even notice it. (My typical mountain ride has a 7,000' altitude change....all in one afternoon's ride!)

Being rich won't "ruin" anything on the engine, at least not like being lean will. It may however carbon things up, which isn't going to be helpfull.

Can you increase the amount of air intake somehow, as a temporary fix???? Assuming your lid is still on, try drilling a few 1" holes in the lid and see if that helps. Later you can get a new lid....airbox lids are relatively cheap (~$12).
