ON my z400 I took the lid off the air box and replaced it with a Outwears lid cover so it's just like no lid but has some protection from mud and dirt. I replaced the stock exhaust with a witebrothers E2 exhaust and replaced the main jet with a OEM 160 and the pilot went from the stock 22 to a 25. The stock needle was just perfect after trying 3 others. It now runs and SOUNDS awesome. I'd suggest dont fall for the jet kit crap. Just go to your parts counter and get Genuine OEM jets made just for your carb. Do these tings and your Z will run right with the 450R. Someone will say I'm full of it but I have a 450R and would ride the Z anytime over the R.
I didnt asy it would pass or beat it I said it will run right with it, but the ride is so much smoother and better. Have fun!
