600cc streetbike motor in a quad
#1
I have a 05 zzr600 kawasaki that was totaled but has a good motor which i want to install in a quad. It is carburated so it will be easier. What would be a good quad to go with? Its going to be a budget build so i wanted something older. Maybe a LT250, trx, 350 warrior, or a 400ex. Any ideas? Also how hard is this swap? And does anyone have a quad with no motor or a blown motor they want to sell cheap? Anything ideas will help.

I would go with the TRX becouse of the availability of aftermarket parts. The swaps are pretty time consuming but if you are good with a pipe bender and a welder you can do it just make sure you get the motor alligned correctly with the back sprocket and as close to the swingarm as possible. good luck on your build.

The DS is a great bike for building up I put a Busa motor in mine the pics are on my page and if you go to youtube and look up Bombusa all of the videos are mine it is scary fast and has torque like a mack truck. It will hang with most alchohol drag banshee's and it runs on pump gas and you can drag and dune it all day and it doesn't get hot.

You could do it with a warrior but you would have to really stuff that thing in there depending on the motor you went with. Thier was a guy on here who put a XR 650 Pumped up into a warrior and from what I understand it was a beast.

I have an '87 warrior with a weakening motor that i was thinking of doing this to. But i was thinking of finding an old 400~440 free-air cooled snowmobile engine. they're plentiful and fairly cheap and they're two-strokes with wicked amounts of power. Would this be feasable? the idea just kind of poped in my head, seemed like a cool possibility
