Default K&N Air Filter

Hey guys, I have an 06' Honda Rancher ES. I put a K&N air filter on it recently. I have put approx. 150 miles on it since then. I am noticing a very fine film of dust in my airbox. Is that due to the filter or what. I have heard a lot of complaints on here about them.

with a find film of dust will just be from dusty conditions, I love mine and have had no problems from them in the past.

Default K&N Air Filter

At one time I ran K&N's with Outerwears on everything. Every time I changed the filter, I would wipe out the intake boot with a white cloth, and evey time there was a film. Went back to foam...no film anymore!

If performance is your primary goal, and you are willing to pay for more frequent and more complicated rebuilds, then the K&N is probably worth the risk. But not if you want to play it safe.........

If it's in the airbox it's before the filter? Or is it after the filter?
