110 Octane Fuel
#1
I`m looking to have my engine ported and there is almost a 4hp gain to go from 100 to 110 octane. Does anyone have any thought`s on where to look? i`ve called a few airports and some Racing-auto shops and have turned up dry so far. (no pun intended) I live in central PA
Thanks

Where in central PA do you live. I live in Johnstown. About 5 miles from my house there is a gas and oil company that sells Turbo Blue racing fuel. It is rated at 114 octane. Its about 4 dollars a gallon.

I live in State College,
Johnstown and Raystown aren`t that far away. The closer the better though. Anywhere is better then what i`m coming up with now. Please let me know where these spots are at. price isn`t really that important.. Getting it is kinda crucial though
Thanks

what other mods are you doing besides porting? higher octane resists detonation better than low octane fuel , and if your not increasing your compression higher octane will be of no use to you. what do ya ride? i can get turbo blue( 120 oct ) at huntingdon , cam 2 at martinsburg ( 115 ) thought i would let ya know.

I know where cernic's is. Its about 10 minutes from my house. Yeah, there are alot of good places to ride. From my house, I can ride clear to Bedford if I want. Thats about 40 miles from my house by car. I have alot of places to ride behind my house. My grandmother owns 50 acres of woods behind my house. From there I can get to some old strip mines, an abandon land fills, alot of other places.

I ride a 99 Blaster, I am having some porting and headwork done. The changes to the head are where the compression increases are coming from. In Huntingdon? Thats only like 30 or so miles from here>! That would be excellent!< ! Is it a dealer, or a gas station who has it? What kind of quad do you ride?

What pressure are you running to have to go so high?????? Sounds crazy to have to use race fuel if you don't need to prevent detonation. It certainly won't give you any more hp, if fact less, if it doesn't actually need that octane.
