My '96 Wolverine has been really hard to shift lately, and I mean REALLY hard. It doesn't do it in every gear, but it does it once & a while. Reverse, for example, is almost impossible to get into gear. I have to put almost all my weight on the shifter to get it to click into gear. It's also done it in 1st and 2nd gears too, but not always. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't have the cash to take it to a shop right now, and I'd hate to have to lay the bike up until I can afford to fix it. Could it just be the clutch adjustment or something?

I already thought about the oil problem, so I changed it. I was running 20W50 in it, but it's winter time now, and temps here get down to around -25c, so I put 5W30 in it. The problem is still there. As far as the idling speed goes, it is shifting just like it does when the idleing speed is turned up too high, and normally I would think that this could be the problem, however, it also does it when I'm driving at higher speeds, and going through the gears, so the idleing speed wouldn't be a factor there.
