Rejetting a 300ex
#1
I want to know what I should do to my ex. Should I rejet or change my gearing. I want both speed and. I just put a cobra exhaust on and I didn't have to rejet. Now I want to know what I should do now, But I dont realy want to rejet, But I want more SPEED and I also want to know what brand of spockets is the longest wearing besides sidewinder.

Buy a big bore kit, install a high performance cam&valve springs, have the head ported, buy a bigger carb, run race gas.It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. But before i sank a lot of money in a 300 ex why not just get the 400 ex and have a hell of a lot better all around machine.Seriously it makes no sense to thrash the heck out of a 300 ex making it faster and better when you can have one right out of the box that is great for 1,000$$ more. Please don't get upset with me i'm just stating the facts. If you are just dead set on the 300 ex try having the head ported, and installing a better cam w/springs.This will get more out of the pipe and you will surely have to re jet for these mods. sscott

I've got the 300 ex and i feel your pain,i just think that for most people with 300 exs that want to make it better would be happier with the 400 ex.I would like to buy one myself maybe next year.
Anyway, i forgot to mention that if you get a cam and springs, get a rev-limiter upgrade with it.I read that it works well with the cam upgrade. You could also check into a higher compression piston. The cam upgrade would only cost around 120.00 and the rev box upgrade is somewhere around 90.00 aybe less, but thats not much coin and should make a huge difference coupled with the pipe and airbox mods.
I'm looking into better shocks for mine maybe the tcs shocks.I bottom the fronts out quite alot, thats why i think i would be better off with the 400 ex cause i like to jump and get great air,and the 400 is better built for this.See ya,good luck on your 300 ex.scott
