Toomey Pipes
#1
I currently ride a 99 Banshee. I am interested in purchasing Toomey Pipes, but I keep hearing that they have less low end power compared to other brands. I admit I ride woods mostly and I still need at least as much low end power as stock. Anyone out there using a set for woods riding? How do they perform overall?
I am interested in Toomey mostly because they have a complete product that includes proper jetting, air filter, etc. and having my machine tuned properly is important.
Thanks!

The toomies are good pipes, but they are more of a top end pipe. For woods, you would be better off to look into LRD, FMF, and possibly pro circuit. They all change the power curve and require jetting changes. Altitude, temperature, and humidity can change it also, so if you get toomies, you will still have to jet accordingly for the weather changes. If you buy all the gear from a reputable shop, im sure they can tell you what jetting to start with for you altitude. You will probably have to change the pilot jet too. Having the proper kit or not wont keep you free from having to read your plugs. Thats the best way to tell if you have it dialed in.
Good luck.
Good luck.
