Default Project Trailboss 330, need help.

I dono if this is the right section but if not please move it.

ok I have a 2003 trailboss 330 sittin in my back yard and has been for over a year now with a busted transmission. I cant find another for under 1000$.

I'm not gonna spend 1000$ on this ATV and it still be the same trailboss 330 with no *** behind it lol.

Anyways I'm at the point where I either need to do something with it asap or just get it out the yard. I was thinking why not just build it into something id enjoy riding instead of just selling it for junk.

But I just don't know what kinda swap or anything to do with it.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I wouldn't mind spending a couple grand on it at all if it was something that id enjoy playing with.

The sky is the limit, Help me come up with ideas or something to do with my Polaris Trail Boss 330 before it gets junked.

My main goal is more power. I have been tossing around the xr650 motor ever since I seen my friends xr650 400ex.

You could give Rick a call at Ritter Cycle. He's got a 414 kit for that model. A little clutch work and you'd notice the difference.

But at the same time, if you put 1k into the tranny, and about another 1k in motor and clutch work, I don't know if it's really worth that.

You could part it out, and take that same 2k and buy an good used sport quad that has the power you're looking for.

im 21, I currently have a zx12, a banshee and a kx100 dirtbike im not really looking for another sport quad for 2k.

The reason I want to do this is this quad is just sitting in my back yard, I had alot of fun on it when it was running but hated the fact it was so damned slow and automatic lol. this isnt a zomg im 13 years old and need more powar!!!

This is just I have an extra quad frame and id love to tackle the project to learn about it and when I finish I can look back and enjoy that I built it.

this thread is mainly for suggestions on motor swaps that could be done that isnt to complicated like throwing a busa engine or anything like that in it rofl.

but ty for your time spent on your suggestion but im gonna go through with a swap on it, I dono what kind yet but I will!

Well, you can always toss an old sled motor in it. But unless you do something with the suspension too, you're gonna be real disappointed.

Atlast!!! I got the axle out and fliped it! no welding needed.

I have the grind off a brake support but no biggy

Problem was, you have to stick somthing solid inside this hole through the bushing and turn the whole axle till the 2 notches are on the open end. then pull it out!

and yes im wearing green fuzzy slippers what of it!
