If you were going to do a conversion..what would it be?

If I was planing on winning any races it would have to be the engine out of the Honda Elite 50s. What a motor.
But since that is very unlikly, if I where going to swap an engine in a 250r frame it would most likly be the 2-stroke, 172 hp, 999cc Thundercat engine. As far as 4-strokes go, the 1298cc engine in the Hayabusa made by Suzuki sounds nice, but the XR 650L would be easier and cheaper to get.
P.S:Anybody know how to fit a Honda Valkyrie 6 cylinder in to a Honda Recon frame?

Bob your mean. I like the tcat motor idea.
I would put a 600 2-stroke twin in the scrambler for sure. I can't believe I have not seen one. With the new doo 4 wheeler Polaris should get off its duff and make something that flies withought fighting to try and make it fast. I like my scram 500 but just is not nearly fast enough.

plilzie...I've seen a 250X to a 350X conversion before. Turned out real nice.
Rob V., about your idea..it may become a possibility by this time next year. Hot Seat is working on a chromolly frame that would hold a Polaris snowmobile 600cc twin. I dont have any more info that that, but I've talked to them and they didn't beat around the bushes. They hope to have a prototype ready for testing this winter. I was really hoping they would also make a frame for the 400L's, but nt at this time.

Id convert my LT 250 R to a 71 Hemi-Cuda!! No, if i could find the advertisement in the Denver paper, they had a wrecked GSXR 1100 for sale for $400. If i had the money at the time, I would have bought the bike and either bought a LT 500 frame or assembled one of those single seater "oddessey" type dune buggy and would have rocked the dunes. As it is, i now have the money, but the ad is gone. Thats my conversion, now if i could just find the ad!

Ever heard of the Boss Hoss? If not goto Bosshoss.com. I would like to do this to an Arctic Cat 500 chassie with the Sportsman's Long travel rear suspension on it. Find some wheel adapters to go from the 4-bolt axles to goto 5-bolt. With this I could run 16.5 inch wheels which I could put 35x16x16.5 Super Swamper Boogers on.

Id take a 454 all souped up to about 1500 HP and put it in a suzuki lt125 frame... and put some mickey's drag slicks on it, and get top of the lind brake and do front lock burnouts all over town, then put it in 2nd gear to out run the cops. Or get some VW Dune Buggy sand paddles and blast the hell outta the dunes... id put a 46 foot wheelie bar on it for going up cop hill at glamis, or id get a trailer hitch and hook it up to it, to to the resst of my amzaing quads. OR id even go as far as to put a home-made differential in it to make it 4 wheel drive, put some tractor tires on it and weld a boat to the bottom, and laugh at MaxRules Max while im doing Mach4 through his 2 1/2 footmudhole he cant make it through on his mighty max. Then id drive it into the lake to wash it off.. Well, just a thought...
actually i want to get a zilla engine and put it in my lt250r frame.... and beef up the suspension and take it to glamis!!!
oh well...

Hehe,
There are some wild ideas in this topic.
On a serious note, does anyone remember the quad that had the turbine engine from a helicopter in it. It was owned by one of those guys that did professional tractor pulling. I can't remember his name. I think his last name was Arfons. It was a wild looking machine. He used to back up to cars and burn them up with the afterburner. hehe
