Hello, I was just curious if anyone new what it would take to slip the new 600cc motor out of my '99 CBR and put it in a 400ex chassis. No, I don't plan to do this but just wondered if it could be done. On the bike it puts 98 to the ground (without ram air factored in). My bike tops at 164 radared (showing 169) and runs the traps at 10.89 seconds at 126 mph. Not bad for an amatuer. I sure couldn't run a course fast. I'm used to cruisers so this machine is a whole 'nother world for me. As for ATVs I'm the utility type but the 400ex sparked a lot of interest in me. Then I thought "hell, I wonder....) :-) Well, if you know anything about this throw it in here. I'd like to read it. Later

Yes,
Many people have stuck street bike motors into a quad frame. I have an aquantance that stuck a 1100 GSXR motor into a Banshee frame, that sucker moves out.

I figure the dynamics of such a swap would be huge but would pay off if speed is what you would want. I wouldn't think that weight would be a major problem as the motors are fairly light to start with. But I'm sure there would be some increase. Transmission and all would surely have to come from the donor vehicle. probably be some geometry problems. If you could manage to keep it in the 6,500 and up range it should be decent on the trails. I would assume no different than riding a 2-stroke on the trails. Course I guess the weight bias might be awfully different so I'm not sure jumping would be its forte. Would probably rock in the various sand drags around. which is probably the answer to where the monsters would be ridden. Later. Hey, you guys happen to know how to recover your old user and pass? Anyone that reads my info thinks I"m some new kid off the street in here but I've been in here posting for over 2 years.

RoostKing....
I also know of someone who cramed in a 1100 GSXR engine in a banshee frame. Man does that thing look mean. Sounds damn good too !!
They have it at a local quad shop here in PA.

The dunes and sand drags are where these monsters lurk. I had the opportunity to watch a 750 2 stroke street bike motor stuffed into a quadzilla frame race the previously mentioned Banshee. Talk about fast. THese quads were moving! And the roost they threw was incredible!!

Im currently looking at the prospect of installing a 600 triple snowmobile motor into my LT 250R. Any hints???
